A break....

As sad as this is for me to say...I'm going to be taking a 2-4 week break. I'm not really sure how long it will be but for the rest of June I really need to focus on school. Finishing school and keeping up with two online classes that I've started to do. I've got a lot going on an it's really crazy. So I'm going to try to get some guest bloggers and have them post on here. If something big happens I might most about it. But I seriously need a break.

Hopefully when I come back I will be getting a new design and making some minor/major changes. As you can see there is a poll or two on the sidebar now (I'm about to go create them) and they will be asking questions about anything you can think of that you would want me to be doing, some ideas I've had that you might like or hate etc. I will probably still schedule my Inspiring The Cute posts and try to have at least one guest poster per week. By the time this post goes live I will have already asked several people if they could be guest posters for me, but I may be a few short. And the more guest posters the better :) So email me at Sierrabooklover@gmail.com if you want to be a guest poster :D :D

I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and a wonderful summer!!!!! I'll be in touch, of course. I'll still be posting on my book blog, A Slightly Nerdy Bookworm. And I'll still be on Google+
Nature
I'll see you on down the road a little ways!

P.S. Okay I couldn't help myself, this reminds me so much of a scene from Leap Year. I watched it Monday with two of my really good friends at a sleepover. A great, funny movie with lots of beautiful scenery! :)

Seven Lies About Homeschooling (my version)

After watching some messy Mondays I decided to address the lies brought up in the video above....and then address some others  I think are believed as well. Unless I run out of time...then this will get turned into a 2-4 part post series!

(7)Homescoolers are really sheltered. Like said in above video...I would love not knowing who Lady Gaga was. Sure I was sheltered in Middle School and didn't get the "talk" until I was maybe 13 (although I figured out something already) and sure I am sheltered from a lot of things because I don't go to public school....but I do know a lot of things about the world and the entertainment world. I don't feel sheltered at all. When I was younger, maybe. But not feeling pressured to have a boyfriend in 4th grade? I DO NOT MIND.
(6)Homeschoolers go to Church seven days a week. Again, I agree with the video. We have more chances and freedom and less "seriously? what kind of a dork are you that you go to church????" experiences than kids in public/private/etc. school. But we don't go to Church all the time. It's true that I have a lot less pressure on my faith in many, many ways. But there are different people and different situations. Some homeschoolers may take more time to do Church activities because they feel led to do this in their free time. It's a matter of calling and opportunity a lot of times. On another subject,  I have never been to a youth group because I haven't found one I really like or want to join yet. I may have found one now and I'm thinking about going. I go to Church orientated activities twice a week. Church on Sunday morning and a Small group that I babysit for. It's not all that different you know.

(5)Homeschoolers don't actually do school. This is one of the most stupid things I've ever heard. My parents are right there standing over me expecting me to do school. And once I've hit tween/teen years I realize how badly my school needs to get done and I want to get it done so I can have it done and get into a good college. Homeschoolers usually have a lot less chance of school not getting done because of how much more involved their teacher (a.k.a. parent) is with them. I know plenty of people who work extremely hard at their schoolwork and are soooo smart. Seriously.

(4) Homeschoolers have no friends. Not true! This may have been more true when I was 8 and we had just recently moved and my sister had just had surgery so we were somewhat secluded....butt his was mainly because I hadn't met anyone in our new area yet and hadn't started any activities. I have many many friends and I have a bunch of fun with them. Just this weekend I spent 3 nights over at my best friends house. And yes she's a homeschooler. In fact like 98% of my friends are homeschoolers. (including the ones online). Homeschoolers are great friends and we can always discuss a lot of the same things in our life. Plus, I have friends who are older and younger then me. Something my mom always loves to gloat about. That homeschoolers can "play" with almost any age child and be friends with them too. I love my bestie's little sisters. I have a friend who is 2 yeas younger than me who is awesome. I have a friend who is several years older than me who likes being friends with younger girls because they are crazy.  So no, homeschoolers to have friends. And I'm perfectly fine with not having a million and not seeing them everyday. That would be fun, but so long as I see them pretty often I'm fine.

(3) Homeschoolers are really shy. Not necessarily true. I was shy just as a person when I was younger but now I'm kinda crazy :P Like the video says, we have to go out of our way to make friends a little more than public schoolers do. And we have deeper relationships and friendships because of that!!!!

(2) Homeschoolers have no lives. Yeah you go to school everyday...um not going to deeply into that. I'm leading a literature club this coming fall. I'm hopefully working out a sign & meet with a local author for the literature club and my library *crosses ingers* I love my friends, my books, my library, thrift store shopping, listening to 1D and I do English Country Dancing. Sounds kinda normal doesn't it?

(1)Do school in their pajamas. Not necessarily true for me...but in a lot of cases....yes :D And yeah it's fun to sleep in late and not have to dress super nice (because family ain't gonna hate XD)

Sadly this has gotten a little...yeah my computer is shutting off in one minute. Yikes and byeeeee!

Would you hate me terribly if I closed you?
Love, the author

Dear boy,

1. Favorite restaurant?
Cracker barrel, Olive Garden, our local Chinese place or Chick-fil-a. It depends lots on my mood and cravings :P

3. Favorite TV Show?
Heartland.
4. Favorite movie?

5. If you could be best friends with one celebrity-who?
Taylor Swift or Demi Lovato.

Like I said earlier, last week at some point...I'm not all that into tags anymore. So if you want this one comment and say you're taking it 'kay? Because I really don't want to go to the trouble (sorry) of tagging people and letting them know and making them feel obligated to writing a post with the tag in it. Etc. and all :)

In a world of mysteries
Where nothing's how it's meant to be
Suddenly You came to me
Broke through my uncertainty
You gave me hope so I believe
You are my Epiphany

Tears flow from the darkest places, from empty spaces
And You came like a light that filled the corners of my mind

When it's never quite right, I never knew how
You make the pieces fit

And it feels just like the morning rays
Breaking through the grey
And it feels just like the pouring rain
washing my fear away

So just wanted to let you guys know about something I've been thinking about doing. I've been thinking about collecting prayer requests from anyone who has one and posting them on Sundays. If only I had thought of this a couple days sooner, haha. Anyway if you guys have any private or one that can be shared on here please email me at Sierrabooklover@gmail.com :)

For me I actually do have one! My tongue has been really weird since Saturday afternoon or a that morning. My tongue has felt like it has a sore or something wrong with it on the left side or bottom side. I don't know. It stings and hurts to talk and eat. Even swallow :( It hasn't really gotten better so if you guys could just send some prayers up for it to heal (whatever it is, I don't know!) that would rock!
~~
In other news I went to an Alice In Wonderland themed tea party that was really cool :D In typical nerdy fashion I had read the book but never seen the movie :P (disney cartoon version) But we had tea and cake and some people played croquet while others played cards :) Definitely inventive and unique! Bunches of fun.

Later this week I'm spending the night (several nights actually) at my bestie's with another good friend, I start two online classes (it's crazy...aughhhh) and babysit on Wdnesday :) A semi-busy week when you throw all that in with remnants of school and the reading program goals I've set!
~~
And lastly, I've been thinking about a new blog design. That or creating a whole new blog and closing this one off so only I can view it or something. Something about a clean slate sounds incredibly appealing. In some ways it was this post from Jessica that made me consider the idea even more seriously.

So let me know what y'all think about all of that ^^ And have a wonderful day!
